Self Running

Founder Tom Huerta and I teamed up to create a unique mark for his New York based running apparel and lifestyle brand, Self Running.

The mark was developed to encapsulate the intersection between self and running. There were two thoughts that grounded my ideation of the logo. 1) Running allows the space to reflect on your own experiences and sense of self through simple movement. 2) Additionally, there’s a strong dichotomy between how individual running is/can be, and how strongly it ties people together.

From there we iterated to create a mark that felt simple and personal to the brand. The geometric holding shape speaks to the structure of a run practice, and the figure to the agency that is discovered by moving freely within in that structure.
